Community EMS Remains the City of Novi’s Provider of Choice for Emergency Medical Support
January 23, 2007– On Monday, January 22, the Novi City Council voted six to zero to approve the Emergency Medical Services Contract with Community EMS for a five-year service renewal through 2012. Community EMS has held the Novi contract for over 20 years.
“Community EMS views its relationship with municipal clients as partnerships,” stated Community EMS spokesperson, Lauren Walsh. “We become part of the community and commit ourselves to providing the highest level of emergency health care.”
Community EMS has high ambitions for its continued work with the City of Novi Fire Department. “We look forward to continuing collaborative efforts with the Fire Department and local health care systems to strengthen the relationship between area emergency caregivers and members of the community,” stated Community EMS CEO, Greg Beauchemin.
As part of the new contract, Community EMS will station two Advanced Life Support vehicles in the City of Novi to meet Oakland County’s eight-minute response time criteria and continue providing optimal emergency service as the population and business community continue to grow.
Community EMS is a Southfield-based not-for-profit corporation established in 1982. As the longest licensed private EMS company in Oakland County, Community EMS also services the City of Novi’s neighboring communities of Walled Lake, Commerce, Wixom, Northville, Farmington, Farmington Hills, and Wolverine Lake.
