RELEASE NEWS RELEASE NEWS RELEASE
4,000 Teddy Bears Donated to Children of New Orleans

Southfield, Mich., December 15, 2006- The Royal Canadian
Mounted Police (RCMP), in conjunction with the Canadian Army, are donating
4,000 teddy bears to New Orleans children victimized by Hurricane Katrina.
The RCMP requested the aid of Community EMS, a Metro-Detroit ambulance
company, in transporting the teddy bears from the Ambassador Bridge to
Louisiana.
The exchange is scheduled for one p.m., on Monday, December 19, at the
truck depot of the Ambassador Bridge. The teddy bears will be released
to Community EMS crewmembers, who will be driving them to New Orleans
in an ambulance. “We are more than happy to be doing this for the
kids that have suffered so much these last few months. Hopefully each
of these bears bring back a little piece of the joy that’s been
lost,” said Greg Chittle, a Community EMS employee who donated his
time to the hurricane relief.
Upon arrival in New Orleans, the district attorney’s office will
distribute the bears through the city’s police and fire departments.
The RCMP requested Community EMS’s assistance in delivering the
teddy bears after hearing of their previous aid to hurricane victims.
In September 2006, five Community EMS ambulances and crews responded to
the hurricane rescue efforts in Louisiana and Texas.
